We're excited to kick off the 2027 Cohasset Youth Lacrosse season! Cohasset Lacrosse continues to grow rapidly across our youth levels, and we take tremendous pride in watching our boys and girls develop their love and understanding of the game.

Cohasset Lacrosse has become a state powerhouse, as shown by our boys and girls high school programs both bringing home State Championships. The building blocks for that success begin in our youth grades, where our first priority is ensuring every boy and girl in our program builds strong fundamentals, confidence, and a lifelong love of the game.

 

WHAT'S INCLUDED

As part of our growth, we continue to add to what your registration covers. The most significant addition in recent years has been our Winter skills program, and for certain grades this now includes ad hoc Fall skills sessions. All of it is included in your registration fee, and compared to the cost of other youth programs, we believe it delivers significant value for your child's development.

Our Winter skills sessions at the Cohasset Sports Complex begin in November. Please watch for an email from your grade's head coach. During the Winter program, we will rotate in position experts, many of whom came through Cohasset Lacrosse and went on to play in college, to donate their time for specific skills sessions. When times and teams are available, we will also explore scrimmages against other towns.

 

REGISTER BY DECEMBER 31

Please register by December 31st to ensure your child's name is on the back of their jersey (grades 1-8). Kindergartners will receive CYL reversible pinnies. A NOTE ON FEES

With the rising costs of equipment, fields, league fees, referees, and more, we will be raising fees slightly this year. Even so, we believe our fees remain in line with other youth sports, given the breadth of programming and development we provide. Boys in grades 1-8 and girls in grades 3-8 will all have an out-of-town travel schedule in addition to team and grade practices.

REGISTRATION EVENT & LAX WALL CHALLENGE

On Sunday, November 15th, from 10am to 1pm, we will host a registration event at the Lax Wall. Wall ball is the single most important skill your child can practice to improve their game. Once a child can throw and catch, the entire game of lacrosse changes.

We invite everyone to come to the Lax Wall to (i) register for 2027 and (ii) attempt Cohasset's Wall Ball Challenge. Every player who attempts the challenge will receive a prize: a custom decal our good friends at Good Sport have donated that can either go on a helmet or wrap around a shaft. Please go see our friends at Good Sport for your equipment needs – they are big supporters of our program.  Our goal is a 100% success rate on the challenge by the end of the 2027 season!

COHASSET WALL BALL CHALLENGE

Rules of the Challenge

1. Complete All Repetitions: Players must complete the designated number of repetitions with both their right and left hands (see chart above). One rep is a throw and a catch.

2. Time Limit: All repetitions must be completed in under 5 minutes. Extra credit for anyone who can finish in under 4 minutes!

3. Distance from the Wall: Players must stand at least 6-8 feet from the wall.

4. Dropped Balls: If a player drops the ball, they may pick it up (or grab another ball) and continue. The clock keeps running.
